About Us

TRIBE is an ethical company sourcing from over 25 Countries. Our handmade and sustainable material Collection of homeware, furniture, designer rugs and lighting perfectly hums together with a fresh and light neutral palette and is constantly evolving as new collaborations are born and travelling adventures bring delights from all over the world.

The creative force behind Tribe is Australian designer, Jo England who spent her career as a senior designer in corporate branding, then took a creative leap developing property and honing her interior design skills. Jo redesigned numerous derelict properties and turned them into beautiful light-filled homes, re-planning the space with plunge pools, indoor trees, vaulted ceilings, sunken TV rooms and crafted each feature from kitchen tiles, dining tables and barn doors. This has naturally paved the path to sourcing pieces that she loves and curating the beautiful collection that is Tribe.

Tribe represents a passion for empowering artists and the generation old skills of the craftspeople that hand make our products. We believe in supporting them and their timeless skills. Ethical trade is the core of our business principle. It must be good for the environment, good for the artisan and good for the community. The incredible team at Tribe insists that the collection looks good, feels good and know it has done some good. The Collection translates perfectly into our lifestyle.

We proudly represent ethically aligned companies like the incredible Armadillo&Co Designer Rugs which are certified Fair-Trade, sustainable materials and 100% handmade. This provides employment for their community of 1,500 weavers which in turn sustains an industry of craftspeople. It also supports education and local schools in these weavers’ villages, has built 6 schools so far and builds a brighter future for children in these underprivileged communities. Armadillo & Co is certified Kaleen; which is the commitment that no child labor is used in the making of their products. Many companies like this are part of the Tribe Collection.

Opening the doors to its light-filled Al Quoz studio in September 2015, and its new retail space in September 2016 in The Collective, Al Quoz, it has quickly gathered momentum locally and internationally. Tribe has collaborated on many projects with designers, stylists, artists and events and now styling private residential villas, to commercial projects such as cafes, restaurants and boutique hotels.
